Hello, everyone! I’m Honoka Endoh.
Almost two months have passed since I came here. I’ve got used to the lifestyle here in Australia however, studying of schoolwork is so hard to catch up. There are many tasks I’ve not done yet. So, I study hard every day to catch up and improve my English skills.
Anyway, today, I would like to report about my trips (Cairns and Byron Bay) that my school prepare for international students.
At first, I will talk about Cairns trip.
I went to Cairns from May 24th to 27th. It was very exciting for me because all programs were sightseeing, and I could do many things that I can only experience in Cairns.
First day, I rode “Skyrail” and went to “Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Centre”. Skyrail is the cable way which is above the rainforest. That viewing was so nice. I could spend very good time with my friends in the gondola. We sing songs as well!!
At “Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Centre”, I tried to throw boomerangs and experienced traditional Aboriginal’s music, dance and so on. Aboriginal is indigenous people of Australia. I was glad to know a little about Australian history. There was different atmosphere by current Australia. That was very interesting for me.
(Everyone was painted in Aboriginal way!)
Second day, I went to “Great Barrier Reef” and did snorkelling in the sea!!
It was my first time to do snorkelling. There were many fish and I could see coral. Also, there were white sand and blue sea, I was happy even if I just stand on the sand and see the ocean. The time I spent on the ship and beach were the best of my memory in Australia so far.
Third day, I went to “Hartleys Crocodile farm”. I could watch crocodile and snake show. Unfortunately, I could not understand part of their story, but it was so fun. I could see death roll as well! (little bit slow…) Besides, the farm has many kinds of Australian animals such as koalas and kangaroos.
I was able to go shopping and hang around not only things that I mentioned above. In this trip, I could feel magnificent nature that I can’t experience in Japan. And all the time that I spent with my friends was so awesome. I want to go there again someday.
Second, I will talk about Byron Bay day trip which I went in 2nd. Byron Bay is the city that is in the easternmost part in Australia. I went shopping and walk on the cliff around the sea. Luckily, I could climb the light house. That viewing, especially from the light house was awesome.
I could see the rainbow and wild dolphins, too. I could feel nature of Australia in here as well.
I’ve got very good memories in both places. I will stay only one year in Australia, but I want to experience lot of things that I can do only in Australia as much as I can. So, I want to try to join trips like that again.
Next time, I want to talk about my school.
Thank you very much for reading through to the end. See you next month!
